The individual tracks were recorded at The Fire & The Rotunda (as part of “Gate”, an experimental music series). Recorded shortly after The Distance Brings Us Closer, Stars Whisper continues the group’s development of indie ambient sounds & explorations of modern psychedelia. On these songs, blissed out guitars, keyboards used as percussion & long ringing bass notes join with samples stretched beyond their limits, disassembled wind instruments, electronic children’s toys, pellets, shells, & other electro acoustic elements to make the sound of a sunken ship resurrected & propelled into space. Two of the songs were recorded by the band, using a portable field recorder, & the third song was recorded by War Games (aka Ed from Hotel Hotel), also using a portable field recorder.
